We are looking for a Junior Project Accountant to support and work with our Owners and project teams. A successful candidate needs to ensure all billing and payables are processed accurately and in a timely manner. This position will report to the Controller. This is a non-exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Input subcontracts and change orders into the enterprise accounting system.
  • Input owner budgets and change orders into the enterprise accounting system.
  • Manage Herrero Accounts Payable Email.
  • Process vendor invoices/subcontract payments and retention requests.
  • Process & reconcile allallocable vendor payables.
  • Code, process, scan, store, save,vendor invoices.
  • Support Project Accountants as needed.
  • Input and maintain preliminary lien information.
  • Review, input, and maintain subcontractor insurance information.
  • Collect subcontractor, vendor and supplier lien releases as required.
  • Prepare and submit deficiency Hold Notices.
  • Manage the Subcontractor Pre-Qualification portal.
  • Maintain all Job/Project related Accounting files.
  • Work with the project team and owner representatives to ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payables, and billings, per the terms and conditions of each project contract.
  • Complete other responsibilities asassigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Two years of business school (accounting or bookkeeping) or equivalent combinations of experience and training.
  • Minimum two years of construction accounting experience and working knowledge of invoicing & billing procedures.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of basic computer spreadsheet applications.
  • Viewpoint software experience is a plus, but experience in multiple Construction based accounting software applications is desired.
  • Ability to use 10-key by touch accurately.
  • Understanding how to track, pay, manage, and work with all our subcontractors.
  • Work closely with Project Team on budgets, monthly billings, change orders, contracts, lien waivers, and insurance.
  • Ability to exhibit discretion & confidentiality when managing the various bill rates.
  • Must be accurate and detail-oriented while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a teamplayer in supporting both owner representatives & project teams.
  • Strong effective English communication and telephone skills.
