IT Director

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Director to oversee the IT operations at Herrero Builders. Reporting to the CFO, the IT Director, is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the information technology (IT) services of the Business with primary responsibility for short and long-range planning of the company’s technology to ensure that it supports current and future needs of Herrero Builders and the construction industry. The individual in this position provides oversight of the management of the company’s computer software systems, servers, and networks, for the implementation and integration of enterprise systems and associated subsystems, and for IT customer service and operational support activities.

  • Overseeing all IT operations including staff and infrastructure.
  • Developing a long range strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems).
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating IT projects in line with organizational objectives.
  • Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology.
  • Managing and supervising employees in the IT department; providing coaching, mentorship, and performance guidance.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of current projects and technology systems by identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proposing strategic solutions and recommending new systems and software.
  • Calculating and managing the costs of current and future IT systems.
  • Preparing financial budgets and performance reports.
  • Create processes, standards and metrics for selection, implementation, and support of systems.
  • Protecting sensitive data, systems, and applications from external threats.
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
  • Continually strives to provide optimal customer service to increase user satisfaction.
  • Ensuring reported issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Proof of continued education such as certifications is desirable.
  • 3+ years of management experience in an IT environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred.
