Alta Bates Medical Center NICU, Berkeley Newborn Intensive Care Unit - Interior Renovation 14,000 square feet Structural Steel and Concrete Type 1, OSHPD Architect: AKOL Architects As part of a series of projects to upgrade facilities for ABMC's Women and Infants Project, Herrero successfully completed the new Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Careful planning, phasing and dust control measures kept the adjoining and very sensitive Oncology Department in operation during construction of the NICU. In addition to installing and tying into extensive hospital utilities, this soothing, comfortable unit included a new starfield lighting system. Herrero has completed many projects with ABMC at their various campuses over the years and we are currently working on several projects at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center facilities in Berkeley and Oakland. |
