| Pacific Telesis Headquarters High-Rise Exterior Renovation 28 stories, 500,000 square feet Steel Frame with Terracotta Masonry Skin Architect: Garcia Wagner Assoc. The Pacific Telesis Headquarters Building is a San Francisco landmark. Herrero was hired to inspect and replace the exterior skin on the 28-story structure. The $40 million team partnering project was completed over five years of field construction. The project required inspecting the entire masonry skin of the high-rise then selectively replacing the glazed terra-cotta cladding that had failed or might fall from the building using an innovative seismic masonry epoxy anchoring system. "The project received Honorable Recognition at the Consulting Engineers Association of California’s 18th Annual Engineer’s Excellence Awards Competition. This award is a tribute to the entire team.” H.J. Degenkolb Associates, Engineers |
