The new 16th Floor Stem Cell Laboratory is located at the UCSF Medical Center’s Parnassus campus within the Health Sciences East building. The full demolition and remodel project included; asbestos abatement, new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety and cryogenic storage utilities, medical equipment installations, custom laboratory casework and new wall and floor finishes. In addition to extremely limited site access and materials staging areas, the above ceiling construction was performed in order to preserve the integral ceiling/HVAC ducting system.
Herrero worked closely with the existing users within the 16th floor space in order to minimize disruptions to their work throughout the duration of the project.
