The 13th Floor Nursing Unit is located at the UCSF Medical Center’s Parnassus Campus. The scope of this complete demolition and remodel project included; asbestos abatement, complete interior demolition, new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and high end finishes for a new 32-bed Nursing Unit with associated nursing stations, negative pressure isolation rooms, staff lounge, staff locker rooms and administrative offices. In addition to extremely limited site access and material staging areas the project was constructed while the hospital was fully occupied and required extensive coordination with the staff and patients within this 24/7 facility.

Herrero strictly adhered to UCSF Medical Center's construction project requirements including use of negative air machines, infection control procedures, and noise, vibration and schedule disruption control.
