The new Mt. Zion Hospital Endoscopy Suite is located in the former Emergency Department at basement level. The gut and remodel project scope included asbestos abatement, custom casework, new wall and floor finishes, new suspended ceiling system, as well as all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety and medical equipment installations. In addition to extremely limited site access and materials staging areas, the project was constructed while the hospital was fully occupied and operating.
Herrero strictly adhered to UCSF Medical Center's construction project requirements including use of negative air machines, infection control procedures, and noise, vibration and schedule disruption control.
